Reducing My Carbon footprint in 2016

One of my 2016 goals is to reduce my carbon footprint without changing the quality of life.

I will aim for this by doing:

  • Replace broken light bulbs with efficient LED based lightbulbs
  • Reduce travelling by car and take the bicycle or train more
  • Reduce fossil fuel consuption (natural gas) by better controlling the heat in my room using a thermostat and improve isolation
  • Monitor and reduce the amount of silent energy users, like PSUs
  • Reduce power consumption of my computer(s) by switching from high performance mode to energy efficient mode
  • Separate waste better and into more streams
  • At work: reduce use of  ozone depleting chemicals and decrease use of polluting chemicals

How-To Install Node-RED on the Raspberry Pi

This short guide describes how to install Node-RED on your Raspberry Pi running Raspbian OS.

In the terminal run the following commands:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y nodered
