- Improvements to ad delivery – With OpenX 2.8.2, we have made a number of changes to the delivery engine to ensure the proper allocation of ads across contract campaigns. The resulting improvements will reduce the occurrence of under-delivery and over-delivery for all contract campaigns. This includes significant changes to maintenance as well as improvements to delivery.
- Improvements to campaigns using companion positioning – Prior to OpenX 2.8.2, once a “companion” campaign served one ad on a page, it prevented any other campaigns from serving ads on the page, regardless of whether the companion campaign could fill all of the pages and ads itself. In OpenX 2.8.2, we’ve fixed this behavior, so if there are ads on the page that the companion campaign is unable to serve, they will be offered to other campaigns (helping you avoid serving blanks).
- Security updates – We have completed a number of critical security updates to the ad server in OpenX 2.8.2 to reduce any potential vulnerabilities in the software.
- Resolution of a variety of issues relating to email/newsletter zones, performance, the user interface, and more.

- OpenX Market Quickstart- With the OpenX Market Quickstart screen (located on the Inventory tab), you can opt in multiple campaigns to OpenX Market with a single click. So if you’ve already created several campaigns and want to flow some of them into OpenX Market, you can do it all on one page. Furthermore, with Quickstart you can easily set a single floor price for all of your Market-enabled campaigns or different floors for each separate campaign.
- Ad Quality Tool -The Ad Quality Tool gives you more control over OpenX Market ads that get delivered to your websites. For each website, you can go to the OpenX Market Ad Quality Tool screen to see ads that have been served by OpenX Market onto that website. And if you see an ad you’d rather not display, you can block the OpenX Market advertiser campaign that was responsible for delivering that ad.
- Reassociating an OpenX.org account -We’ve now made it possible to reassociate an OpenX.org account to OpenX Market, even if you have to switch instances of OpenX Ad Server for any reason. This means if you have to reinstall OpenX or change servers, you will still be able to associate your original OpenX.org account to OpenX Market without any problems.

OpenX version 2.8 has been released. This version is the followup of 2.7 beta.

New features in v 2.8:
- Easier Customization: The plugin framework allows you to customize your ad technology and build any plugin you need. You also have access to additional plugins developed by the OpenX community, OpenX and third parties.
- Revenue Maximization: The OpenX Market plugin allows you to maximize revenue by flowing your inventory directly into OpenX Market.
- eCPM Optimization: You can further maximize your advertising revenue by using an entirely new eCPM-based revenue optimization system for ad serving prioritization across your remnant CPM, CPC and CPA campaigns.
- Improved Scalability: Raw data storage has been overhauled by a re-architected distributed statistics technology (bucket logging) to provide significantly improved scalability and reduced storage requirements.
- Enhanced Usability: The first time you log in to OpenX 2.8, you’ll see significant UI improvements to make OpenX even easier to use.

At 10.30 local time the advertisement system will be updated to the latest stable version.
The most important changes are the API system, new banner targetting options, improved user management system, updated colour scheme and templating system, delivery engine improvements, PostgreSQL support and 11 updated translations.
