Cisco 3600 series router configuration day 2

Next step is upgrading IOS 12.2 to the latest version (a 12.4 branch)
Im very happy my model has the maximum amount of memory fitted in.

Quote: “On some platforms, notably the 3600 Series Routers, 19200, 38400, 57600 and 115200 bps are supported.”
This means upgrading the firmware goes about 12x as fast! Still it took 1 and a half hours.

I`ve removed all unnecessary lines from the configuration.

Setting up my new Cisco 3600 series router

After fixing the first error (some sort of memory bug) the router starts with a rather plain config. I made sure i backed up this config before doing my own configuration;

Console cable + telnet:
en
copy running-config flash:original-config
setup

Than i rebooted the router and placed it in my desk.
Second setup was going back to the telnet enable the disabled interfaces.
Afterwards i`m able to use telnet on a remote pc through the already present network.

My old lab setup

Today i`ve decided to replace several items in my lab/testing setup.

The three Cisco 2500 series routers are going to be replaced by one Cisco 3600 multiservice/multi-slot router.
