In case you have problems with installing SimCity 2000 on a Windows 8 machine (like me) you shoud follow this short guide to get it working.
- Copy the SC2K directory from the CD to C:\Games\Simcity 2000\SC2K
- Run the simcity2000.reg file (below)

i’m like totally computer illiterate, and I’m not sure what you mean by SC@K directory – I can’t find a file on the CD with a name anywhere similar to that
im downloading the patch now lets hope this works!
the registery is on the pc, not the installation disk
how do when get the registery on the pc \, where do we find it????

if something goes wrong how do I remove it from registry? Just go in there and delete it? lol…which I suppose I could do….

delete only the register keys which this file adds
Or the simcity directory. Don`t delete anything else or you might damage your computer

What is the SC2K directory? Where do I find this? Or is it just the whole things on the CD which I have to copy?

Change the extensions from c:\\games…. to whatever extension your game is in.
For Example:
if my game is in “e:\simcity 2000” then

would change to
“Graphics”=”E:\\Simcity 2000\\Bitmaps”

the problem is there is no graphix. i changed the compability a dozen of times but didnt work…. any idea?
