I`ve decided to upgrade my bedrooms network from 100 mbit to gigabit ethernet speed.
For this reason I brought a 3Com 3CGSU05A Gigabit Switch.
Several months ago I replaced all 5e cables and replaced several patch cables by cat. 6.
I also equipped my server with a dual interface gigabit ethernet card.
Next step in the network upgrade will be to replace the 100 mbit backbone between the two networks with a gigabit ethernet backbone. For this I have to buy a new Cisco GBIC.
