Linus Torvalds has released Linux version 2.6.30, codename “Man-Eating Seals of Antiquity”.

Most changes are made to the data storage and filesystem code. Most important changes include the improved data security of of the Ext4 file system.
Version 2.6.30 of the Linux kernel also supports 2 new file systems and offers more options for configuring software RAID systems.
Kernel images and initramfs can now be compressed with Bzip2 or LZMA which require less storage space.
As normal a bunch of new and improved drivers are included. Several changes to the PCI and power management code aim to making system hibernation (standby/suspend) more robust than before.

The kernel source can be downloaded from www.kernel.org
