Hello, can you help me?

I have to compile the usbserial module has a module in ubuntu 9.04, actually that module is compile inside the kernel.. Is there a way to compile just the usbserial module, not the full kernel source and modules?
(sorry if my english is bad)
I have downloaded the source and headers packages, I know how to compile the full way. but no make a included module loaded has module…

I installed the kernel packages in the order specified by you.Then reboot it.But still the kernel is 2.6.28.It was not upgraded to 2.6.30.Iam using ubuntu 9.04.Please help me to upgrade my kernel from 2.6.28 to 2.6.30

The ubuntu kernel guys have fixed the package issues, now you will find kernel packages (headers, image and source) for 2.6..32rc-1 here
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32-rc1/
Hopefully the next revisions will have all the kernel packages updated properly.

I have notified the ubuntu kernel team about the invalid linux-source debs, and please don’t jump the gun again!! Notify only when all/complete packages are available (headers, linux-image with/without linux-source)

the above url that you mention has:

meaning it has only valid headers deb, not even the linux-kernel image. This is getting ridiculous, please post when complete packages are available.
